Canadian Pharmacy Spam is On the Role Again
A new flood Canadian Pharmacy spam has been detected by McAfee Labs researches. These spam URLs are closely related to notorious IPs ranges such as 194.xx.xx.x2 and 194.xx.xx.x4. These malicious IP ranges have produced hundreds of alike-sounding URLs that contain “Canadian pharmacy” spam terminology such as drugs, erect, pill, pharm etc.
These URLs also have different combinations with numbers and letters included, for example, hxxp://33a2.xxxxxxxxxxxx71a.xx. or hxxp://drugsxxyyzz.xx. This new wave of Canadian Pharmacy spam is very similar to the old one; the only real difference is the face of the person smiling back at you on the homepage.
Users should be very wary of these malicious websites when browsing the internet, and even when clicking on links in e-mails from unknown sources. There are hundreds of these malicious sites being created each day so if you should land one of the websites be sure not to click on anything because most of the time these websites are embedded with malware that will automatically execute when you click on it.
Lastly, make sure you don’t fall for their fake offers and attempt to make a purchase because once they get a hold of your credit card details the next thing you’ll be looking for is a solution to Identity Theft.
